Ass. Coro Polifonico Kamaraton Cantus . Camerota ( SA )  This association called "Schola Cantorum E.Ciociano" publicly came to life on the Christmas Day in 1976 when the choir sang the "Christmas Mess" passionately written by Elmiro Ciociano, Founder and Maestro. After several decades of hard work, in May 2001 it became a music club better known as "ONLUS CORO POLIFONICO KAMARATON CANTUS" under the leadership of Pietro Chirico, a brilliant committed Maestro
The music club consisted of more than 40 members coming from Camerota and a few districts in the Cilento area. It devoted to singing polyphonic music pieces ranging from to sacred to secular styles, to ancient and modern classics, to the best Italian popular singing tradition, to spirituals, to the pieces both of the Medieval era and the contemporary age. Different kinds of experience mixed up and gave life to a group of polyphonic amateur music fans and singers keeping a music tradition alive, which stemmed from the local community. Ceremony, sacred, classic, and secular pieces fall into their repertoire. ”music, as a general kind of art, is a present of a few people given to many others, of those who know and have something given to those, who do not know and do not have”. |
